Tech Svcs Student Assistants

Students who work in Technical Services generally work between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Students work 10 hours each week. This is not a public service position.

Students generally have the same schedule each week.

Technical Services Assistants perform the following duties:

  • Stamping and sorting of physical materials.  
  • Pulling materials from the shelf to be analyzed or withdrawn from the collection.
  • Withdrawing items from catalog and preparing lists of withdrawn materials.
  • Additional processing of new books.
  • Inventory projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail
  • Good organization skills
  • Ability to follow direction with little to no supervision
  • Must have at least a 2.0 CGPA

Primo or Alma Issues
Primo and Alma issues can be handled a few different ways:
  • Post Primo issues to the # primo Slack channel
  • Send an email to Christie and Gardner. One of them will be able to help.
  • Send Christie and Gardner a DM in Slack.
    If issues can't be resolved right away, they will add the problem to the Systems log in Sharepoint.

Items must go through the state surplus process.
