Expectations
A student aide working the reference desk is expected to sign-in to the chat reference system (LibraryH3lp) at the start of a shift. You are not expected to be able to answer every question and should feel free to suggest the patron contact a staff member directly (remember to provide them with the staff person's contact information.) Patrons should be helped on a first-come, first-served basis - this includes both chat and in-person patrons. Please communicate with patroons that you are assisting another patron and ask them to please wait for assistance.
