You will start by creating a new order list. This is generally easier to do when you are looking at a list of books. For example, if you click on “New High Demand Adult” you will be taken to a list of books. At the top left, you will see a box that says “List.” Click on the box next to “List,” and type in a title for your new order list. I usually type “Next Order for Library.”
To learn more about a book, click on the title.
If you would like to add this book to your order, type the number 1 into the box to indicate that you want one copy, then click “Apply.” (You can order more copies, but in most cases you will probably only order one copy of a book).
You will know that the transaction was successful when you see “Transaction Complete” at the top. A green L will also show up next to the name of the title. This means this book is on your list, but not ordered yet.
To see what books are on your list, click on “Next Order for Library” in the upper right corner. You will see a list of the books that are in your ordering queue.
When you are ready to submit your order, while viewing the list you wish to rent, click the green submit button on the top right.
• Double check the title and author of the book to make sure you are ordering the right one.
• Make sure each book has a 1 under Quantity (Qty). If you do not indicate how many copies you want when you put the book on the list, this number shows up as 0, but the title will still show up on the list.
• Make sure you order the correct font size. If a book as a purple square with the letters LT next to it, that means the font of this book is large text. Unless large text is requested by a patron, you will likely only order regular-sized font. There is no obvious notation indicating that a book has regular font, but unless it has the purple LT square, you can assume that the font of the book is regular.
• Check the publication date. It’s okay to order books that have not been published yet, but just know that it will not be available until the publication date (or later). One benefit to ordering a book early is that you’ll already be in the ordering queue, which is nice if the book is really in demand. The downside is it may take a while to arrive.
• Keep track of your allowances. The number of allowances you use per order is displayed in the top right corner. To see how many allowances you have left overall, click on the gray box at the top. Some books cost more than one allowance.
Click on “Next Order for Library.” Click the checkbox next to the book title.
In the dropdown menu, click on “Delete Selected.”
Click “Apply.” A message will pop up confirming you want to remove the book. Click “OK.” You can always add books you deleted back to the order if you change your mind.
