Many folks like to use archival material as inspiration for their own creative and/or scholarly work, so we encourage you to visit us and see how you might express your identity and your thoughts with archives as your guide!
Archivists across the Commonwealth are also using this month to help educate creators about copyright and fair use. While we can't give you legal advice, we can give you the factors and guidelines to help you assess whether it's fair to reuse copyright-protected material in your own work. Download our Being Fair While You Create zine, or come pick one up at one of our events or in our Reading Room!
Visit the Virginia Archives Month 2024 website for more fair use and copyright resources.
Please note that this zine is designed to be printed on 11x17 paper and can be printed in full color or grayscale. It is double-sided; the zine unfolds into the Virginia Archives Month 2024 poster.
