Historical magazines in print

The library keeps old magazines among the books on the second and third floors. These magazines are bound in hard covers, just like books, and may be checked out like books.

Below is a list of some noteworthy magazines that we have. We have more magazines than just the ones on this list. You can find many more old magazines by browsing the AP section on the third floor.

Historical magazines on microfilm & microfiche

Simpson Library has a number of old magazines on microfilm and microfiche. To find them, go to the microfilm cabinet (the grey cabinet) or the microfiche cabinet (the red cabinet) and browse in the AP section. You can make free printouts from microfilm or microfiche. The librarians can assist you with this -- if you need help, just ask.

Among the many magazines that we have on microfilm or microfiche are the Atlantic Monthly, Ebony, Esquire, Harper's, Maclean's, Mother Jones, the Nation, the National Review, the New Republic, the New Yorker, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and Time.
