About this Guide:

This guide was created for students enrolled in First-Year Seminars (FSEMs).  The learning objectives for this guide are to:

• Understand the differences between types of information 
• Find information by developing an effective search strategy 
• Evaluate information sources to determine if they fit the information need
• Cite the sources of information used

Your professor may require you to complete some or all of the sections of this guide. At minimum, every FSEM student is required to complete these sections:
