This site includes texts written specifically for the BC OpenTextbook initiative, as well as books from other sources.
Merlot
MERLOT has one of the largest collections of open textbooks with thousands of free open textbooks in the collection. As with all MERLOT resources, the textbooks are searchable by topic. Additionally one can use the Advanced Search tool to find open textbooks by audience, format, license, etc.
LibreTexts
All Libretexts libraries are accessible to everyone via the internet, completely free. We believe everyone should have access to knowledge.
Saylor Academy Open Textbooks
The Saylor Foundation (Saylor.org) provides a collection of free and open college level textbooks and courses. When availabile, links to supporting Saylor Foundation open courses used in conjunction with Saylor open textbooks are also provided.
National Academies Press
Unlike some of the open textbook initiatives these books are publicly available but not openly licensed. You can link to the content, and even link directly to specific pages. However, you cannot remix and redistribute the content.

American Institute of Mathematics: Approved Open Textbook
Open textbooks covering different levels of calculus, algebra, and statistics.
Open Course Library
A collection of high quality, free-to-use courses that you can download and use for teaching. All content is stored in Google docs making it easy to access, browse and download.

DOAB: Directory of Open Access Books
The primary aim of DOAB is to increase discoverability of Open Access books. Academic publishers are invited to provide metadata of their Open Access books to DOAB. Currently it includes over 1500 Academic peer-reviewed books from more than 50 publishers.
DPLA: Digital Public Library of America
The DPLA offers a single point of access to millions of items—photographs, manuscripts, books, sounds, moving images, and more—from libraries, archives, and museums around the United States. Users can browse and search the DPLA’s collections by timeline, map, format, and topic; save items to customized lists; and share their lists with others. Users can also explore digital exhibitions curated by the DPLA’s content partners and staff.

Internet Archive Text Archive
Download free books and texts. The Internet Archive Text Archive contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children's books, historical texts and academic books. Try the archive's site OpenLibrary for an interface to the published books on archive.org and links to other online book collections. This collection is open to the community for the contribution of any type of text, many licensed using Creative Commons licenses.
OAPEN: Open Access Publishing in European Networks
OAPEN promotes and supports the transition to open access for academic books by providing open infrastructure services to stakeholders in scholarly communication. We work with publishers to build a quality-controlled collection of open access books and provide services for publishers, libraries, and research funders in the areas of hosting, deposit, quality assurance, dissemination, and digital preservation.

Perseus is a non-profit enterprise, located in the Department of the Classics, Tufts University. "Our flagship collection, under development since 1987, covers the history, literature and culture of the Greco-Roman world. We are applying what we have learned from Classics to other subjects within the humanities and beyond. "
