Alternative Formats
Library staff will work to provide students with alternative formats of items the library owns, to meet your accessibility needs. We will also digitize print materials on request and provide accessible scans. Whenever possible, items lent and borrowed via interlibrary loan will be made accessible.
Retrieving Materials
We provide physical assistance with retrieving library materials from the stacks. Users can submit hold requests for materials directly from our catalog, and we will retrieve them and keep them at the Circulation Desk. The user will receive an email when their materials are ready. Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests as quickly as possible; however, staffing levels and other user requests may create short delays. When necessary, we will mail materials to those who require it.
Copying / Printing / Scanning
We provide assistance with photocopying, printing, and scanning. Relevant copyright restrictions and normal photocopy charges are observed.
Equipment from the HCC
At the HCC Information Desk, students can check out cameras, audio kits, light kits, and more. If a student needs assistance using this equipment, the Digital Knowledge Center staff, on the 4th floor of the HCC, can help.
Research Assistance
Research librarians are available to help you with research. They can assist you face-to-face, via telephone, email, chat, or video-conference. Visit Simpson Library's Research Help page to learn more or to schedule an appointment. Individuals who may need access to alternative formats or assistive technology for research access are encouraged to share this information at the time of appointment request. Libraries staff may consult with the Office of Disability Resources about potential accommodation assistance if needed.
