Find books using the main search box on the library homepage.
Subject headings:
Each book is tagged with subject headings. Click on a subject heading to search for all books tagged with that heading.
Here is an example of a subject heading with two subdivisions:
Gaza Strip -- Politics and government -- 21st century
In this example, the subject heading is "Gaza Strip" and the subdivisions are "-- Politics and government" and "-- 21st century." Subdivisions are optional. You can remove them from the search box to broaden your search.
Here are some subject headings that are relevant to this class. This is not an exhaustive list:
Find subdivisions of these subject by using the Browse by Subject feature. You can type any subject term into the Browse by Subject box. (If you type any subdivisions in this box, be sure to omit the hyphens.)
Call numbers:
Simpson Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system. In this system, books about Israel and/or Palestine are shelved between DS 101 and DS 151, on the third floor of Simpson Library. This section includes several subsections:
See also JQ 1830, also on the third floor, for books about the politics of Israel and Palestine.
I recommend browsing these sections. (Remember, though, that most of our books are e-books and can't be found by browsing the shelves.)
The simplest way to find journal articles is to use the library search box and limiting your results to "Peer-reviewed journals." That's a good place to start. However, consider searching the history databases as well. I recommend the database Historical Abstracts.
