Don't cite overviews -- instead, use them to find clues such as search terms or citations. Then, put those clues into search boxes to find secondary or primary sources.
Option 1: Wikipedia
Wikipedia is a good general-purpose encyclopedia.
Option 2: Library encyclopedias
Simpson Library owns many subject encyclopedias. A subject encyclopedia covers a certain subject area (as opposed to a general encyclopedia such as Wikipedia, which covers all subjects).
Here are some subject encyclopedias that are relevant to this class. Some of them are print books and some are e-books.
Option 3: AI chatbots
Ask an AI chatbot to give you an overview of a topic, with sources for further reading. The resulting output will contain search terms and citations that you can follow up on.
Remember that AI chatbots sometimes make up things that aren't real -- for example, it might refer you to a book for further reading, but the book doesn't actually exist.
